Amelia’s Twin Does

GCH (pending) Cabochon Amelia 3*M VEEE 91 delivered twin doelings on January 21st. This is a much anticipated breeding to Cabochon XY Prosecco and I’m planning to retain one of the girls with the other avialable to a performance home.

Prosecco’s daughters have amazing udders with excellent attachments and large, well-placed teats. I have three milking daughters who have all appraised “Excellent” on mammary and who millk 1,000-1,200 pounds. One is already a finished champion at three years old. I retained another doeling last year who earned her first leg with a Grand Champion as a junior. Prosecco is the son of SGCH Carl B’s OH Sweet Champagne *M LA: VEEE 91.

Amelia is a classically beautiful goat with a Linear Appraisal score VEEE 91 as a six year old topping her four year old score of VEEE 90. Amelia finished her permanent championship this year at seven years old and milked 1,091 lbs in 294 days, cutting her lactation a bit short so we could bump up to an ealier kidding date.

Amber’s Triplets

Cabochon DP Amber 3*M kicked off our 2023 kidding season with a set of triplets on January 19th. She had a quick, easy birth and never missed a beat transitioning into her second lactation. The kids are thriving and are excellent prospects for show, 4H and home milkers. All three kids are available as of this posting.

Amber milked well as first freshener last year producing 822 lbs in 277 days. (We shortened her lactation in order to bump her up to a January kidding date this year.) Some of Amber’s strongest traits are her wide (31), level (30) rump; and her rear udder height (34). Amber had a very nice first freshening udder scoring “V” on appraisal with ideal teat placement (27). I’m excited to see how she looks as a second freshener this year.

The kids’ sire, Cabochon DJ Casanova *B, is the son of GCH (pending) Liberty Star Acres Annabelle 2*M EEEV 90 who has exceptional longevity, winning her latest Grand Championship at 11 years old at the highly competitive Bluff Country show. Casanova’s daughters have multiple show wins and production awards including a Superior Genetics daughter, SG Cabochon CN Whatchamacallit 2*M VEEV 90.

High Tide’s Triplets

High Tide (a.k.a. Zoe) wrapped up our kidding season with a very nice set of triplets bred for excellent milk production and conformation. We strongly prefer a home that participates in milk test for these kids.

Cabochon DP High Tide 3*M is very dairy doe who tops the charts for milk production and is within range of being a top 10 milker as she matures. As a yearling first freshener, Zoe milked1,040 lbs in 305 days and then continued on to 319 days with a total of 1,090 lbs for her first lactation. As a two year old this year, she milked 5.8 lbs on her first test! Zoe has an incredibly soft, supple udder and milks out like a dream. We have only shown Zoe a couple of times and she has done well in the ring.

The kids’ sire is Cabochon DJ Casanova *B out of Liberty Star Acres Annabelle 2*M who has the longevity we look for, scoring Ex 90 for the third time at 8 years old. Casanova has already proven his abiltiy to sire daughters with outstanding production and excellent conformation. He is sire to SG Cabochon CN Whatchamacallit 2*M “Libby” VEEV 90 who is a 1,200 pound milker in our herd and he has several daughters in other herds as well.

Angel’s Triplets

Angel delivered 2 does and a buck this year. This breeding is a line breeding on Dynamo Falcon Ziggzag +*B VEE 90, a 2021 ADGA Nigerian Dwarf Elite Sire. Ziggzag is known for high production daughters and several of our does have him in their pedigree.

Cabochon PAN Believe In Angels 5*M earned a Grand Champion win and a Best Udder Award this spring at the Mid-MN “Almost Spring” Classic as a second freshening two year old. Some of Angel’s best features are her long, level topline, her straight legs and her high udder. She’s milking very well with 4.6 and 4.3 lbs on her first two tests so far this lactation.

The kids’ sire, Cabochon ZZ Sweet William *B, has daughters with multiple show wins and production awards including a Superior Genetics Grand Champion daughter, SGCH Cabochon Petit Sirah 2*M VEEE 90 and his newest daughter Cabochon WM Juniper V+VV 85 (FF).

Diamond’s Triplets

Diamond gave us two does and a buck this year for her third freshening. As a yearling first freshener, Diamond made the ELITE list and took first place in all three rings for the only show we attended that year. This year, she finished her permanent championship at the first show of the year winning Grand Champion in all three rings and Best of Breed in two rings at the Best of the Midwest show in May. Diamond has a beautiful udder with excellent attachments and well placed, easy-to-milk teats.

One look at Diamond’s pedigree shows that she has outstanding lineage with Superior Genectics and permanent champions top and bottom. Diamond’s dam was of one of our best does, SGCH Carl B’s Stormstruck  2*M VEEE 91. Her sire is Cabochon XY Prosecco whose dam is SGCH Carl B’s OH Sweet Champagne *M VEEE 91.

The kids’ sire, Cabochon SIG Marco Polo AI *B, excels in general appearance and dairy character. Marco’s dam, CH (pending) Cabochon Amelia 3*M VEEE 91, is a gorgeous doe with beautiful conformation and excellent production milking more than 1,100 pounds in her third lactation.

Marco is sired by the 2015 ADGA Spotlight Sale Nigerian Dwarf Buck, Heaven’s Hollow Sig Sauer. Sig Sauer’s dam, SGCH Wyojem Wendy Kiki (EEEE 91), is a Superior Genetics Grand Champion who has many outstanding accomplishments including:

Fable’s Quads – Mini Alpine’s

“Fable’s Fabulous Four” get the award for the most colorful litter of the year. Each of these boys has a personality as distinct as their coloring. Fable (aka Trouble) is quite small for a Mini Alpine and these kids are 75% Nigerian so are great candidates as herd sires for a MIni Alpine herd looking for quality genetcis to bring their size down.

Fable is a beautiful doe with a stunning udder and high milk production. She has everything you want in a MIni Alpine with a proven pedigree to back her up. Fable’s dam is Carl B’s RP Novel *M VEEE 90 and her sire is Cabochon DJ Casanova *B out of Liberty Star Acres Annabelle 2*M who has the longevity we look for, scoring Ex 90 for the third time at 8 years old.

Wildfire’s Triplets

Wildfire blessed us with three long, stylish kids this year. I really like all of these kids and wish I had room to retain them because I think they will make great show prospects as well as fabulous milkers.

Cabochon PAN Wildfire 4*M VEEV 87 already has one Grand Champion win as a Junior doe and earned three Reserve Grand Champions and two Best Udder awards so far this year as a second freshening two year old. Wildfire is a very stylish, eye-catching doe with a lovely udder with really nice fore udder extension that scored a 37 on linear appraisal as a second freshener. She has so much potential and I’m thrilled to have her in our herd.

Nellie’s Triplets

Nellie was our last yearling to freshen this year and also our youngest. She did an amazing job delivering triplets quickly and easily. This is the first daughter of our young buckling, Cabochon DP Dry Ice *B, to freshen and I really like what I’m seeing.

Nellie is a very pretty doe with correct front and rear legs and a snug udder with great attachments. Given her pedigree, it’s no wonder. Her dam is CH (pending) Cabochon Amelia 3*M VEEE 91 and her sire’s dam is CH (pending) Cabochon PR Diamond Dust 3*M VVEE 88, ELITE doe whose dam and sire’s dam are both SGCH VEEE 91 does. There is so much excellence in her pedigree, I’m excited to watch her mature.

The kids’ sire, Cabochon ZZ Sweet William *B, has daughters with multiple show wins and production awards including a Superior Genetics Grand Champion daughter, SGCH Cabochon Petit Sirah 2*M VEEE 90 and his newest daughter Cabochon WM Juniper who freshened with a stunning first freshener udder this year.

Tsunami’s Triplets

Tsunami easily delivered triplets this year and is milking really well with 4.1 pounds on her first test at 52 days in milk. Tsnuami has a socked on udder with excellent rear udder height and a very nice fore udder. This is a repeat breeding because we really like the daughter we retained from this pairing last year, Cabochon CN Liberty Belle, who earned a Grand Champion win this year as a dry yearling.

The doeling is available and the boys will be available as wethers to a pet home.

Madrigal’s Triplets

Madrigal freshened April 2nd with a beautiful udder, tons of capacty, large teats and more than enough production to feed triplets with plenty to spare. As a yearling first freshener, she is milking as much as some of the more mature does. Because Madrigal is a first freshener this year, her bucks will be available to a pet home as wethers.

Madrigal is the daughter of SG Cabochon AR Windsong 3*M who earned mulitple Elite awards and milked 1,390 lbs as a five year old. Early indications are that Madrigal will be the equal of her dam and perhaps even better.

The kids’ sire, Cabochon DP Dry Ice *B, is a young buck we kept out of a first freshener because his dam’s udder was so spectacluar. His dam, Cabochon PR Diamond Dust 3*M, Elite, VVEE 88 (2F) just earned all three legs of the permanent championship at the first show of 2022 and is tracking to milk 1,100 pounds this year. So while it is incredibly rare for us to keep a buck out of a first freshener, I’m so glad we did.
