Circe’s Twins

Cabochon WM Circe delivered adorable twin bucklings. Since Circe is a first freshener, these boys will go as wethers while we evaluate Circe’s production and udder conformation.

Circe is a elegant young doe with a lot of dairyness. She has a long, lean neck and a beautifully level topline. Circe earned her dry leg with a Grand Champion win as a dry yearling. I’m looking forward to seeing how she performs on her first milk test. She already takes top honors for large teats – I think she may bump Indy out of first place for largest teats in the herd!

Prosecco is a stong buck whose daughters have amazing udders with excellent attachments and large, well-placed teats. I have three milking daughters who have all appraised “Excellent” on mammary and who millk 1,000-1,200 pounds. One is already a finished champion at three years old. I retained another doeling last year who earned her first leg with a Grand Champion as a junior. Prosecco is the son of SGCH Carl B’s OH Sweet Champagne *M LA: VEEE 91. His sire’s dam is also a Superior Genetics VEEE 90 doe, SG Pocket Sized TB Xara.

Ma Cherie’s Twins

Ma Cherie deliviered adorable twins on March 4th. These kids are another line breeding on SGCH Carl B’s OH Champagne *M (VEEE 91). Two of our goals in 2022 were to retain another Prosecco daughter and to keep a couple kids line bred on Champagne. Ma Cherie’s doeling checks both of those boxes so we are retaining her for our breeding program. Because Ma Cherie is a first freshener this year, her buck will be going to a pet home as a wether.

Ma Cherie is turning into a beautiful doe and we are looking forward to getting her into the show ring. Her millk production has been incredibly strong for a first freshener with 4.5 lbs at 38 Days in MIlk. Ma Cherie’s dam, SGCH Cabochon Petit Sirah 2*M (VVEE90) is a second generation SGCH doe and we would be thrilled if Ma Cherie continued that into the third generation.

The kids’ sire, Cabochon XY Prosecco, has Superior Genetics awards on both sides of his pedigree. He has strong dairy character with great angularity and openness. We have three Prosecco daughters in our herd and all have beautiful, well attached udders with large, easy to milk teats.

SGCH Carl B’s OH Sweet Champagne *M (EX VEEE 91) is a permanent champion, has a Superior Gentics designation, and milked more than 900 pounds last lactation. She earned her SG award on her very first lactation. She finished her permanent championship and scored 90 on LA at only 3 years old. She has a 2:1 PTI of 112 and a 1:2 PTI of 123.

Petit’s Twin Bucklings

Petit gave us two handsome and much anticipated bucklings on February 24th. These boys are line bred on SGCH Carl B’s OH Champagne *M (VEEE 91). If you’re looking for a buck line bred on an SGCH VEEE 91 doe to bring consistency and quality to your program, check these out.

SGCH Carl B’s OH Sweet Champagne *M (EX VEEE 91) is a permanent champion, has a Superior Gentics designation and milked more than 900 pounds last lactation. She earned her SG award on her very first lactation. She finished her permanent championship and scored 90 on LA at only 3 years old. She has a 2:1 PTI of 112 and a 1:2 PTI of 123! Champagne has proven her ability to produce exceptional progeny.

Champagne’s daughter, SGCH Cabochon Petit Sirah 2*M (VVEE90) (dam to the bucklings) is a second generation SGCH doe. She proved herself early in the show ring finishing her permanent championship as a three year old. She then maintained a extended lactation and appraised VVEE 90 while milking through- something that is quite rate in the Nigerian breed. Petit wrapped up her second lactation with 1,238 lbs after 496 days in milk.
