Josephine

Josephine had quadruplets again this year easily and quickly delivering three doelings and a buckling on April 9th. Unfortunately we lost one of the doelings, but the other three are thriving. Josephine is a beautifully elegant doe who catches everyone’s eye. Josephine has large teats which makes her a favorite on the milk stand. She is one of the smaller goats in the herd at just under 20 inches tall.

The sire, Cabochon ZZ Sweet William *B, has produced some exceptional daughters. His daughters have multiple show wins and production awards including a Superior Genetics Grand Champion daughter, SGCH Cabochon Petit Sirah 2*M VVEE 90

Josephine delivered a doeling and three bucklings on March 15th, giving us our sixth set quadruplets for the year! Josephine is a beautifully elegant doe who catches everyone’s eye. She’s one of the smaller does in the herd but has the largest teats which makes her a favorite on the milk stand. Her chamoise buckling is a stunner and we will be seeking to place him as a herd sire.

The sire to these doelings, Cabochon ZZ Dom Pérignon, has a high performance pedigree. His dam is SGCH Carl B’s OH Sweet Champagne *M (VEEE 91) and his sire is Dynamo Falcon Ziggzag who has multiple Superior Genetics daughters. Ziggzag’s dam is litter mate sister to the dam of the all time high producing Nigerian doe, SG Sugar Moon V Zuzanna 4*M (Elite Doe).

Josehine delivered triplets on March 4th. She had an easy birth and mom and babies are all doing well. This is a repeat breeding ( Dynamo Falcon Ziggzag (VEE 90) x Cabochon PB Josephine 2*M) and we are once again very pleased with these kids. All of Josephine’s babies have been spoken for and are pending sale to their new homes.

Josephine really took her time getting ready to kid and kept us all waiting for six days past her due date. She finally released her hostages on Tuesday, March 20th. I think she tried to make it up to us by kidding at 3:30 in the afternoon instead of in the wee hours of the morning.

Josephine loves her little girl, but she is not fond of her sweet little boy and is giving him the cold shoulder so we are supplementing him with a bottle.  He will be available as a bottle baby to a carefully selected home.
