Windsong is a truly elite milker – she milks an astounding amount and she the will to milk a very long lactation. She has made the ADGA Elite list every year starting as a yearling first freshener with 949 lbs. In her second freshening she milked 1,311 pounds in 305 days making the Elite list again and then continued to milk through finishing her lactation at 582 days and 2,099 lbs. making the Elite list yet again in 2019 while milking through!
Windsong has two legs toward her permanent championship along with multiple Reserve Champion and first place wins in the show ring.
Windsong is a third generation Superior Genetics awarded doe along with her dam, SGCH Carl B’s Stormstruck 2*M 5-03 VEEE 91, and her grand dams on both sides. Windsong’s first daughter, SG Cabochon ZZ Calliope 4*M, is proving to be another outstanding milker who has already earned her Superior Genetics designation and made the Elite list as a yearling first freshener freshening at only 12 months old.
Windsong’s strengths include her excellent dairy strength, correct rear legs, and strong foreudder . We would like to see a stronger medial suspensory ligament and closer teat placement in her daughters and are matching her to bucks who will improve that. We expect her daughters to continue the family tradition of being exceptional milkers.
