What is the cost of processing?
Processing costs are separate and vary based on your decisions of basic processing vs extra services like pre-made hamburger patties, deboning, etc.
You can expect around $250 for half of beef paid directly to the processor.

What are the average hanging weights?
Beef average 200-300 lbs per half

How much freezer space will I need?
Plan on approximately 3 cubic feet of freezer space per 100 lbs hanging weight

How much is the deposit?
A half beef is $250 deposit
A quarter beef is $150 deposit

When is payment due?
Final payment is due prior to delivery of the meat.Meat costs can be paid by cash, check or Venmo. 
Processing costs are paid directly to the processor by check. You can drop off a check at the farm made out to Riverside Meats.

When and Where to I pick up my meat?
Meat can be picked up here on our farm in Zimmerman on the day we bring it back from the processor or directly from the processor in Swanville, MN.Please bring boxes, crates or sturdy bags to pick up your beef.

When do I provide my cutting instructions?
You can put in your cutting instructions any time from the day you place your deposit until 3 days after harvest.

When will the meat be available for pick uu?
The meat will be available approximately 2 weeks after the harvest date, depending on the processor’s schedule.  All meat is dry aged before cutting and then frozen for pick up.

What are my cutting choices for beef?
How many steaks per package?

How much meat will I get back?
A carcass loses weight during aging (water evaporation) and processing (bones, fat, organs). You can expect to get back approximately 65% of hanging weight after processing.  So 100 lbs hanging weight would result in approximately 65 lbs of wrapped meat after processing for bone in cuts. (Choosing not to include bones will decrease take home weight)
