There is nothing like a line bred buck to bring consistency and quality to a breeding program and Touché was bred with that in mind. He is a line bred on our lovely SGCH Carl B’s OH Champagne *M (VEEE 91) out of SGCH Cabochon Petit Sirah 2*M (VEEE90) by Cabochon XY Prosecco. With both his dam and sire’s dam boasting Superior Genetics, permanent championships and Ex 90 & 91 Linear Appraisal scores, this blue eyed boy is something special. with this pedigree, I’m expecting Touché to pass show ring style and conformation onto his kids along with excellent milk production.
Touché’s dam, SGCH Cabochon Petit Sirah 2*M (VEEE90) is a second generation SGCH doe. She proved herself early in the show ring finishing her permanent championship as a three year old. She then maintained a extended lactation and appraised VVEE 90 while milking through- something that is quite rate in the Nigerian breed. Then improved her linear appraisal score the next year with a VEEE 90. Petit wrapped up her second lactation with 1,238 lbs after 496 days in milk. In 2021, Petit earned the ANDDA coveted Total Performer award – one of only five does that year.
Touché’s sire, Cabochon XY Prosecco, has strong dairy character with great angularity and openness and produces excellent udders. We have three Prosecco daughters in our herd and all have beautiful, well attached udders with large, easy to milk teats. One of his daughters, GCH (pending) Cabochon PR Diamond Dust 3*M ELITE Doe VVEE 88 (2F), finished her permanent championship as a three year old winning all three rings at the Mid-Minnesota Dairy Goat Show.
